I will post a discussion board under this unit in CANVAS for you to ask questions and I may provide lecture video's for you to watch and use to get ready for the test. If you need a review of other cell transport types including Passive Transport, Active Transport, cell membranes and gradients watch this video - Transport Across Cell Membranes  as a review.

2.7 (Facilitated Diffusion) & 2.8 (Tonicity & Osmoregulation)
This is what you'll learn about today:
  1. Facilitated Diffusion - Membrane Proteins, Metabolic Energy, Sodium Potassium Pumps and ATPase.

  3. Water Potential - Watch the video below. Maintains homeostasis, water balance, control internal environment.
  4. Solute Potential - Watch the video below.

3 things to do today:

1. As a table read and take notes on these pages: 131 to 136 (Start at Effects of Osmosis on Water Balance end at Cotransport: Coupled transport by a membrane protein).  Under facilitated diffusion pay attention to channel types on page 133 right under figure 7.14. Also, Read 7.5 Bulk Transport on page 137-138. Here is powerpoint you can review as well (Slides 20 to the end) - AP Cell Transport
